The Group Call function allows a door phone button to simultaneously call multiple PBX extensions or phone numbers. This feature is useful when calls need to be answered by any available user, such as reception desks, offices, security personnel, or support teams.
Prerequisites
Before configuring the Group Call function, ensure that:
- The PBX service is enabled and properly configured on the AK-S567.
- The required PBX extensions have already been created.
- Any external phone numbers to be called are properly configured and accessible through the PBX.
Please refer to the PBX VoIP Function AK-S567 article for more information about PBX configuration.
Step 1: Access the Group Call Settings
- Log in to the web interface of the Akuvox device.
- Navigate to PBX → Ring Group.
- In the Ring Group section, click Add to create a new ring group.
- Enter a descriptive Group Name.
- Configure a Quick Dial Number. The quick dial number must not begin with the same digit(s) used by the PBX extension numbers to avoid dialing conflicts.
- Add the extension number(s) that should be members of the ring group.
- Save the configuration.
Once configured, calls placed to the ring group's quick dial number will simultaneously ring all extensions assigned to the group.
Step 2: Configure Group Call Numbers
In the Group Call Number (Local) section from the door station, enter the extensions or phone numbers that should be called when a specific button is pressed.
Each row corresponds to a physical button on the door phone (Push Button 1, Push Button 2, etc.) and allows a maximum of 6 destinations to be configured. Now the group number can be used to call more than 6 extensions at the same time.
In the example shown:
- Push Button 1 will call extensions 1000/2 and 1001/2, as well as the external number 113429837/1.
- Push Button 2 will call extension 90/2.
- Push Button 3 will call extension 1006/2.
- Push Button 4 will call extensions 1004/2 and 1005/2.
Note: If the local group is configured, only the numbers entered in that group will be called.
Step 3: Save the Configuration
After entering the desired extensions and phone numbers:
- Click Submit to Save.
- Wait for the configuration to be applied.
- Test each button to verify that the configured destinations receive the incoming call.
Result
When a visitor presses a call button on the door phone, the AK-S567 PBX will place a group call to all configured destinations for that button. Any registered extension or phone that answers the call can communicate with the visitor.
