Dial Manager Setup
Note: If the device is also connected to the Akuvox Cloud (SIP/VoIP server), this configuration can be useful for remote maintenance and for receiving calls through the Akuvox mobile app.
When multiple SIP accounts are configured, the device always uses Account 1 as the default account for outgoing calls.
How to stay connected to the Akuvox Cloud while calling indoor monitors through the Monitor PBX VoIP Server
To keep the device registered to the Akuvox Cloud and still place calls through the monitor's local PBX VoIP server, configure the call destination to use the extension associated with Account 2.
For example, if extension 1000 was created in the PBX configuration, dial: 1000/2
/2 instructs the device to place the call using Account 2, which is registered to the local Monitor PBX VoIP server, while Account 1 remains connected to the Akuvox Cloud. This allows both services to operate simultaneously.Testing the Setup
- Check extension registration:
- Perform a test call:
- Monitor to monitor
- Panel to monitor
- Verify audio, video, and door unlock functionality.
Troubleshooting
Device not registering
- Check SIP server IP
- Verify extension credentials
- Ensure PBX is enabled
No audio/video
- Check network (VLAN, firewall)
- Confirm codec compatibility
Call not reaching extension
- Verify dial number
- Check extension status (registered)
Best Practices
- Use structured numbering (e.g., 1xxx indoor, 2xxx panels)
- Assign strong passwords to extensions
- Keep firmware updated
- Limit PBX usage to small/medium installations
Conclusion
The Akuvox S567 PBX function provides a simple and powerful internal communication system without requiring external infrastructure. Proper configuration of extensions and SIP accounts allows seamless communication between monitors and door panels.
