When testing the email settings
Safire Smart - I can not send an email notification from my NVR / DVR
In order to be able to send an email notification from a Safire Smart NVR or DVR, it is needed to create access for the NVR / DVR within a Google account.
Go to https://myaccount.google.com/ and login it to your Google account.
1. Then the tab Security
2. When the App passwords are missing
3. Type App passwords in the search bar at the top
4. Select app: select Other Custom name, enter a name (there is the option to create multiple access passwords for if you have more than one NVR / DVR
5. For this sample, we used the name Safire Smart NVR
6. Then Generate
7. Copy the generated password ignore the spaces the password is one long password without the spaces
8. Click Done
9. Go to the email config page from the NVR /DVR
10. Paste the password from (7) in the password field
11. Apply to Save
12. Test if this is working
13. Select the recipient or when there is none add one
14. Ok to send the test mail
15. When every thing is working
Default SMTP Settings for Gmail
Use these settings:
Gmail SMTP server address: smtp.gmail.com
Gmail SMTP username: Your Gmail address (for example, example@gmail.com)
Gmail SMTP password: Your Gmail password
Gmail SMTP port (TLS): 587
Gmail SMTP port (SSL): 465
Gmail SMTP TLS/SSL required: Yes
