Safire Smart - Adding a different brand camera on the PoE from the NVR
In order to add a different brand camera on the PoE from a Safire Smart PoE recorder.
The camera must have an IP address from the NVR PoE IP range.
Looking up the PoE IP range from the NVR.
A. Open the Config page of the NVR in the web browser
B. Select Network
C. Then TCP/IP
A. Op the tab Internal Ethernet Port
B. The internet IP address of the PoE connectors are being showed here
C. Write the internal IP address of the NVR
In this case, the internal IP address from the Recorder is 10.151.151.1
This is the gateway IP address for the cameras that are connected to the PoE connections of the NVR.
This 10.151.151.1 gateways IP address can not be use for a camera IP address.
So every thing from 10.151.151.2 till 10.151.151.254 can be used for the IP camera than needs to be connected to the PoE from the NVR. We advise starting from 10.151.151.100 this to avoid IP conflicts later on.
To avoid IP conflicts, check the IP cameras that are already connected to the PoE on the Recorder.
A. Click on the Function Panel
B. Then Camera
C. And Edit Camera
In here are all the IP cameras displayed that are already connected also the IP camera that are in the Local Network.
This sample check the IP addresses that are starting from 10.151.151.xxx these that are displayed can not be used for the new IP camera that needs to be address on the PoE from the NVR
Next step is to check if the power is on from the NVR PoE.
A. Via the Function Panel
B. Select System
C. Basic Settings
B. Click on PoE Power Management
C. Now the power management will show the active ports and power consumption
Now that all information is collected and the Power over Internet port is active, we can prepare the IP camera.
Depending on the Brand and Models, there are tools to change the IP address of the camera without opening the config page of the camera.
In this case, we are going to assign the IP address 10.151.151.101 to the IP camera.
The subnet should be 255.255.255.0 and the gateway the one from the recorder 10.151.151.1
For this sample we are using a Safire camera made by Hik.
For some camera, Onvif needs to be active and an Onvif user (ask your supplier for support)
