Uniview allows remote adding of cameras through the Auto Link mode. This method enables adding the camera without opening the ports on the camera (a 4G router can be used) and only requires opening two ports on the router where the NVR is located.
The Uniview configuration manual is attached to the article. It includes not only the configuration steps but also the models compatible with this feature, so please review them first.
The first step is to verify that both the camera and the NVR are running the latest firmware versions.
NVR
The first step on the NVR is to set the ports related to WebSocket, which must be opened on the router to the NVR’s IP address. By default, these are 7766 and 50554. In this example, they have been modified.
Next, configure the Port Mapping section to Manual, setting the ports configured for WebSocket and the public IP of the NVR.
The attached manual indicates configuring Port Mapping as uPNP, but it is recommended to leave it in manual mode.
CAMERA
The first step on the camera is to deactivate Ezcloud, as it is not compatible to operate with Ezcloud and WebSocket simultaneously.
Once deactivated, set the data for communication via Auto Link in Network - WebSocket.
- Destination IP - The public IP where the NVR is located, which must have both WebSocket ports open
- Destination Port - The WebSocket communication port configured on the NVR and opened on the router
- Device ID - The ID for the camera. If multiple cameras will be added to the NVR via Auto Link, each must have its own ID. In this case, the camera’s NS has been set.
- Authentication (Confirm) Key: This is the NVR’s password
ADDING THE CAMERA TO THE NVR
When adding the camera on the NVR, the following settings should be configured:
- Add Mode: WebSocket
- Device ID: The one set on the camera
- Username/Password: The camera’s username and password
If the configurations and ports are correctly opened, the camera status on the NVR will be online and it will display properly.
