Accessing the Repeater Configuration Menu
Log in to the NVR using the administrator username and password created during the initial setup.
Note: This guide uses the NVR's local interface with a monitor and mouse connected directly to the recorder. Some options, including Repeater Settings, are currently unavailable through the web interface and can only be configured locally. This may be supported in future firmware versions.
For easier access, you can enable the Log In Automatically option.
Once logged in:
- Select Settings.
- Open the Camera tab.
- Click Edit Camera.
In the camera configuration menu, select the Repeater tab. By default, the repeater function is disabled.
When to Use Repeater Mode
Repeater mode is designed to extend the wireless coverage of the Wi-Fi NVR system when a camera is located outside the direct wireless range of the NVR.
By allowing cameras to relay the wireless signal to other cameras, installations can cover larger areas without requiring additional network equipment.
Important:
- A maximum of three cameras can be connected in cascade (repeater chain) mode.
- The first camera in the chain must be within direct wireless range of the Wi-Fi NVR.
- Physical obstacles such as walls, metal structures, and interference from other wireless networks can reduce signal strength and overall transmission distance.
Repeater Mode Options
The NVR provides two repeater configuration methods:
Auto Repeater Mode
Auto Repeater Mode automatically determines the optimal wireless path between the cameras and the NVR.
This is the recommended option for most installations, as the system will configure the repeater links without manual intervention.
Manual Repeater Mode
Use Manual Repeater Mode when you want to define the repeater chain yourself.
To configure it:
- Select the camera that is closest to the Wi-Fi NVR.
- Click the + icon.
- Select the next camera that should receive its connection through the first camera.
- Repeat the process as required, respecting the maximum of three cameras in cascade.
- Click OK.
- Click Apply to save the configuration.
Applying the Configuration
After applying the repeater settings, the cameras may temporarily disconnect while the wireless network is reconfigured.
The update process can take up to 30 seconds to complete.
Note: During this period, the NVR may display camera disconnection alarms. This behavior is normal and the cameras should automatically reconnect once the repeater configuration has been applied successfully.
