FACE-TEMP terminals can be connected to third-party controllers using the equipment's Wiegand output. This output can have one of the following two shapes:
- The first one is a black connector linked directly to the terminal:
1. W0 2. W1 3. GND
- The second has the shape of an adapter with all the below displayed cables:
Steps: we will create our user in the FACE-TEMP; pay attention to the configured card number (the terminal obliges us to write it!) because it is what will be sent via Wiegand. In our example case we have chosen number 34:
The terminal has the output modes of Wiegand 26 and 34, we can decide which one to use in the following section:
Once we have created the users, we can go to the real-time monitoring section of the (3rd party) controller software to see the code received. In our case we have made the test with a controller of Safire. What we receive depends on the type of Wiegand we have configured in FACE-TEMP.
- Wiegand 26: we receive a code made up of 8 digits, namely the card number we have put on the user and the rest of the numbers until the 8 digits are filled in with zeros
- Wiegand 34: we receive 10 digits, namely the number of the card we have put in the user and the rest of the numbers until completing the 10 digits are filled with zeros
IMPORTANT INFORMATION: When the user trying to register is not in the FACE-TEMP database, what he sends through Wiegand is a code made up of zeros only (W26 - 00000000 / W34 - 00000000)
Knowing the information that FACE-TEMP sends through Wiegand, we only have to create the user in the controller software, the data to create it are the following:
- User ID: we'll put the one we want, it can be the same ID we used when creating the user in FACE-TEMP. It is recommended that it is not the same number as the Access Control Card Number
- Card number: this MUST be the Access Control Card Number that FACE-TEMP transmits over Wiegand
