Power supply
It is important to keep in mind that the AK-ACR-CRP12 UHF reader requires a 12 V / 3 A power supply.
When the UHF reader is connected directly to the AK-A095-LTE controller and the controller is powered via PoE, the controller cannot provide enough power for the UHF reader. As a result, the reader will continuously reboot.
In this situation, a separate 12 V / 3 A power supply should be used for the UHF reader.
Wiegand connection
The following wires need to be connected:
- Red: VCC
- Black: GND
- Dark green: Wiegand D0
- White: Wiegand D1
Note: When using a separate power supply for the UHF reader, the black wire (GND) must still be connected to the controller.
Set up the AK-ACR-CRP12 UHF Reader
- First, download and install the UHF Reader Configuration Tool. Connect the AK-ACR-CRP12 reader to the PC using the USB connection.
- Open the UHF Reader Configuration Tool.
- The default login credentials are:
- Username: admin
- Password: admin
- Select USB as the connection type and click Connect.
Restore the reader to factory default
When connecting the reader for the first time, or if the reader is not working as expected, click Factory Default before continuing with the configuration.
Configure the Wiegand settings
Go to the Wiegand tab.
- Select the required Wiegand Mode.
- For our test, the tag reading interval was set to 3 seconds. This is suitable for applications such as a garage door, where the same tag should not be read repeatedly within a short period.
- Leave the remaining settings at their default values.
Click Save Changes.
Check the System Settings
Go to the System Settings tab and check the following settings:
- Reader Output Mode: Wiegand Mode
- Transmission Mode: Ordinary Mode
- Read Area: EPC
- Work Mode: Reader Mode
- Verify Mode: Verify User ID
Click Save Changes to apply the configuration.
Disconnect the reader
Once all settings have been configured, return to the first tab and click Disconnect.
Disconnect the USB cable from the reader.
If this has not already been done, connect the Wiegand wiring to the AK-A095-LTE controller as described in the previous section.
