When changing a 2 wire intercom system, we always recommend using an IP video intercom system, but sometimes this is impossible. For these types of situations, we have the Akuvox 2 wire system.

Wiring

Pay attention when installing a two wire video intercom.

First, the cabling would be best to replace it. The thickness and length, and how many monitors are connected in a chain, is of course important for the installation.

Below is a table with the thickness required for the distances and the number of monitors.

Because the older 2 wire system in chain runs from monitor to monitor, a maximum of 6 can be connected in chain.

Note: Max 6 monitor in chain.

There is the option to use the up-link to another hub.

Note: The up-link cable needs to be 5CM separated from the monitor cables, and all the NS-2 hubs needs to have their own 48 volts / 2,5 Amp power supply. There is no limit in the chain.

Cabling in the Building

Most buildings have a cable shaft, so we then recommend installing the NS-2 hubs on each floor and connecting them with an Ethernet cable.

The monitor

For the 2 wire monitor, there is only one monitor model the AK-C313W-2, and when the client would like to have a different model they need to use and the AK-NC-2 converter.

The door station

For the door station we do recommend using an IP door station but if that is not working there is also the option to use an AK-NC-2 converter just like with the monitor option.
