Ajax can be conveniently used for autonomous monitoring of your home, apartment or office, which is attributed to an advanced user notification system: combination of push notification service, SMS and phone calls. Even if you connect your security system to a central monitoring station, you will be notified of all events and can supervise the resolution of any problems that may occur. Provided, of course, you don't disregard the Ajax alert.
The different types of Ajax notifications minimize the risk of overlooking a critically important event: an intruder detected inside a home, fire detectors that indicate the presence of smoke or a detected water leak. Push notifications require an internet connection, but in the absence of a mobile phone signal it is possible to receive them over Wi-Fi in seconds. On the other hand, SMS messages work independently of an internet connection, while phone calls attract more attention given the duration of the ringtone and vibrations.
Fortunately, not only companies that serve extremely important notifications for users realized they had a problem, but Apple too. In iOS 12, Apple added a new type of notifications: critical alerts. Regardless of the smartphone settings, these notifications play an alert sound and a message appears on the screen.
Here's how the Critical Alerts tool works:
Apple supports critical alerts only for applications related to health, public safety, and home security. To access these alerts, app developers must demonstrate users' interest in receiving notifications that override device settings, and that the app is subject to additional moderation.
The Ajax Security System app was one of the first security apps in the world to gain authorization from Apple to use critical alerts. When you open the application after updating to version 2.11.2, a message will appear asking if you want the new feature. We strongly recommend that you follow this advice.
The Ajax Security System uses critical alerts only to transmit alerts when detectors indicate an intrusion, fire or leak, and in the event of pressing the panic button on the controller or typing a code on the keyboard under duress. System notifications will not override the sound mode of your smartphone.
If you want to disable or enable critical alerts previously disabled, go to Settings ▻ Ajax ▻ Notifications.
Remember that you can connect Ajax to a security company's central monitoring station to ensure uninterrupted monitoring of security events and quick responses to alerts.
